On October 23rd, Wildwood Condominium Association held a Community Day / BBQ. See pictures from the event below:
2010 Annual Meeting
We had a decent turnout tonight, nut not enough residents were present to achieve quorum. We will reschedule the meeting for a later date.
While we were at City Hall, we had Mickey Rhode from the City of Manassas explain some services that the City offers its residents.
We also had the opprotunity to thank former Director Gladys Booth for her time on the board. President Leon Walker presented to her a gift card to WalMart as a thank you for her dedication to the neighborhood. She will be missed and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Lt. Meg Carroll introduced herself to us as the new liaison with the Manassas City Police. She had good news to share with us. The crime in Wildwood has not increased compared to years past.
Lt. Carroll is a 20 year veteran with the City Police, lives in the City, is fluent in Spanish and likes seeing changes implemented that are suggested.
The official Annual Meeting (that is required by law) will be rescheduled for a later date.
Easter Egg Hunt
On Sunday, April 4th, the Wildwood Condominium Association held an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Over 25 kids showed up for this event. Gladys Booth was instrumental in setting this up. Without her help, this event would not have been sucessful as it was. Thank you Gladys!
Gladys Booth has served on the Wildwood Board of Directors for approximatley 5 years. She is a mother of 2, with 1 on the way. She is also a Prince William County School teacher. She loves working with children and has been able to use that gift for many projects in the neighborhood. She has assisted in planning several Community Clean-Up Days, Neighborhood Fun events, and the neighborhood's first Easter Egg Hunt. She has enjoyed the time that she has spent on the Board of Directors, and is very excited with the positive things that are happening in our neighborhood.
Community Gatherings and Cleanups
In April, 2009, a "Community Cleanup Day" went on with great sucess. We distributed new trash cans to all the residents, installed bulletin boards to inform our residents and loaded two trucks full of trash. There were several games for the kids, including hula hoops, name game and a sack race. We handed out a lot of prizes, including two $50.00 gas cards from ExxonMobile, two "Dinner for Two" at Tony's Pizza and one month of Condo Fees. We need to thank Mr. Huges (City Manager) for the use of the trucks, and the following for the sucess of the event:
Taft Management
Robert (Bob) West
Richard Ray
Gladys Booth
Barbara Williamson
The Board of Directors would like to thank Leon Walker for all of his time and effort to this community. Without him, things would be a lot more difficult. Thank you for a job well done!
